Naomh Eoin is a hurling club based in the Sligo town area.
We play our matches in Dick Kent Park, home grounds of St. Mary's GAA.
First founded in 1985, we have gone on to win numerous county under-age hurling titles,
as well as claiming the National Féile na nGael Division 5 title in 2010. Our Senior
hurling team has also experienced success, with League, Championship and Martin
Brennan Cup titles to our name. We claimed a Cú Chulainn Division 2 Shield title
in 2022 and were runners-up in the 2023 Cup competition.
We have supplied the Sligo Senior Hurling team with a steady stream of players over
the years, with several representatives featuring in the Lory Meagher and Nicky
Rackard triumphs of 2018 and 2019 respectively. Many Naomh Eoin players have also
contributed to the various under-age county setups. Most notably, we had strong
representation in the victorious U17 Celtic Challenge Corn Michael Feery winning
squads in 2018 and 2022.
Everyone is welcome to play with Naomh Eoin. We cater for teams from U-7s right
up to Senior. Beginners are always welcome, and equipment (hurleys & helmets) is
provided by the club for trainings and matches.
Sligo's first U-17 Celtic Challenge title came in 2018, when they beat Donegal in the final on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-8. Naomh Eoin had eight players in the squad.
The Sligo U-17 team of 2022, with five Naomh Eoin players on the panel, emulated the team of 2018 by winning the Corn Michael Feery for a second time, defeating Mayo in the final.
The Sligo Senior hurling team, featuring several Naomh Eoin players, win the Lory Meagher Cup in a sun-soaked Croke Park, defeating Lancashire by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 4-15 to 2-20.
For a second year in-a-row, and again with strong Naomh Eoin representation, Sligo win a national title. Newly promoted Sligo beat Armagh in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final in Croke Park, 2-14 to 2-13.
